Sh*t White/Asian Couples Say: Lay vs. Lie

Asian-American Me: ‘Lay’ and ‘Lie’ are very confusing, especially since the past tense of ‘lie’ is ‘lay’. So you say, “Now I lay me down to sleep,” but “I lie down to sleep,” and “Yesterday I lay down to sleep.”
White Husband: *supportively pats my hand* Your confusion is understandable.
Me: *look of death*
